Obygden plays music original to the band, inspired by Swedish instrumental ’’proggrock’’, nu-jazz, kraut and Anglo-American progressive rock. Songs and improvisations ranging from the soft and gentle to the loud and chaotic.
The first album Obygden (2019) contains nine songs, composed pieces with improvised parts.
During 2021 and 2022 Obygden completed three albums Du gav mig något,… som sedan föll I bitar and Finbesök I Obygden, containing collages made up from pieces of improvisations, dating from 2014 to 2021.
A new release with three new songs will appear during 2023.
The members of the band all have a long history in the Swedish alternative rock scene, together and with other musicians, in bands such as Boojwah Kids, Dansdepartementet, Elegi, Fågel Roc, Frenesi, Guitarsis, Hjärnstorm, Kinski Pop, Myrmark, Pineforest Crunch, Psynkopat, Ragnarök, Stadion, Ståålfågel, Tow Truck Two, The Scree Fall, Triangulus, Underland, Zon 6 and Änglagård.
